PROPER CONDUCT IS REQUIRED BY ALL STUDENTS: While in class, each student is expected to show respect for the instructor and the other members of the class. Our students are taught respect because we show them respect. We expect each student to participate fully during class. However, no student is expected to do any more than what he/she is capable of doing.
The instructor and the teaching assistant are there to set an example and guide our students. As often as possible, we use teenage demonstrators who provide a positive role model for the newer and younger students. A dance education is an excellent way to build discipline and character. The key element to achieve this goal is to see each student as individually important, while at the same time seeing him/her as important to the class as a whole. If a problem arises regarding a student's behavior, the director will speak to the student and parent before he/she disturbs his/her progress in the program.
PROPER DRESS REQUIRED: The student is expected to dress according to the Silhouette D&FA Dress Code Requirements for each class. The student is informed of the Dress Code Requirements at Registration. Hairstyle is part of the dress code. Uniforms can be purchased at the 'studio boutique.'
SCHOOL CLOSINGS AND GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: The dancing school SNOW DAY CLOSING POLICY will follow the Lakewood City School District in advance snow day closings. The dancing school HOLIDAY CLOSING POLICY is posted in advance at the beginning of each month. We do not follow school holiday closing schedules. All closings and announcements can be obtained by checking on our website.
MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY: A schedule of make-up classes is available at the office. If a student misses a class, it can be made up within one month. Attendance is taken during each class.
STUDENT PROMOTION POLICY: All students are eligible for promotion to another class level if the instructor recommends it and the parent is in agreement.

During a recital season, the student is required to make a RECITAL FEE DEPOSIT at the beginning of 1st quarter in September. This deposit is directly applied to the cost of ordering the student’s costume. If the student withdraws from the program within the guidelines of the Silhouette DANCE Withdrawal Policy, prior to the specified deadline as determined by the director, the RECITAL FEE DEPOSIT will be fully refunded.
Students are measured by our staff and costumes are ordered on their behalf. A new pair of tights is required for each costume. Therefore, the studio will supply each student with a Recital Packet which will consist of:
(1) One costume; child’s sz, $80.00 or adult’s sz
